The Diocese of Sioux Falls Vocations Office is trying something new this year. We have a silent directed retreat instead of our annual seminary visits, which have been cancelled due to COVID.
To lead us in this new endeavor we have a phenomenal retreat director, Father Scott Traynor. Father Scott is a highly experienced spiritual director, and has helped multiple young people discern their vocation over his twenty years of priesthood. He has served as a Newman Center Chaplain for both SDSU and USD, working with FOCUS. He has served in seminary formation for multiple years at St. John Vianney Theological Seminary in Denver, CO as a formator, professor, and most recently Rector of the seminary. He has directed multiple silent retreats for priests, seminarians, and lay people. He has guided them through 8 day and 30 day retreats. He has extensive training in Ignatian Spirituality and the Rules of Discernment, and has worked with the Institute of Priestly Formation for over a decade. In short he has an exceptional ability to teach others how to pray and discern God's will.
